Drypoint Printing

Art Workshop with Dena / Kiwi Print Studio

WHAT IS DRYPOINT / Dry point is a versatile printmaking process which involves etching an image into a plate ready for printing. Using etching tools you will indent the surface of a sheet of plastic following your design, creating a beautiful and unique textured image to print multiple editions. You will then learn how to choose inks, ink up your plate and print using an etching press. This technique is perfect for getting lovely atmospheric images with the application of ink, helping you loosen up and enjoy all dry point has to offer.

Learn the simple technique of dry point in this lovely and relaxed workshop located in our gallery studio. Perfect for complete print beginners or artists looking to broaden their practise and develop ideas into a print context, dry point is a great place to start.

KIWI PRINT STUDIO / Founded by artist Dena O’Brien in 2012 Kiwi is a professional printmaking studio. Dena began her career in printmaking after studying a masters degree in Print at the Royal College of Art in London, where she found her passion for screen printing and all things print based.

In addition to her classes Dena also offers technical services for all your printing needs. Open access sessions for those with a background in print, or screen exposure and technical advice for those wanting to work further in their own space.
