Faye Dobinson teaches at the Newlyn School of Art, Penzance, Cornwall and much of personal practice investigates the notion of place and the spaces we inhabit. Faye was born in London where she worked and became known for establishing Europe’s first Contemporary Tibetan Art Gallery in Bethnal Green. Her preoccupation with location and its influence upon us has taken her to Mongolia and Tibet, where she has explored and exhibited. Her work features in private collections in the UK, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia.
“I love the essential tension between the inner and outer spaces we inhabit: the gap between our physical experience and our response to it. Process and the act of making in its many forms enables me to see how I feel about something. It makes the private public.”
