Born in Hereford, UK, in 1981, Jon Fox graduated with a BA Hons in Fine Art Painting from the University of Brighton in 2004. A child of the 1980s, he was captivated by Japanese and American cartoons, comics, and computer games, alongside hip hop culture and graffiti styles, early influences that continue to inform his distinctive visual language today. Drawing on personal introspection, Fox combines narrative and pictorial composition to create vivid mindscapes, layered journeys in search of an underlying energy and balance.
Jon Fox’s work is defined by dynamic geometric structures, angular forms and striking colour, forming tightly packed scenes of mystical figures engaged in gruelling existential struggles.
Fox has exhibited widely on an international scale, with solo shows in the USA, France, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Paris, including standout exhibitions such as Soul of a Giant (ViaViva, Colorado), Build Your Enemy (Spacejunk Art Centers, France), and Heavy Whispers (Corey Helford Gallery, Los Angeles). His work has also featured in major group exhibitions and fairs, from Pictoplasma in Berlin to SCOPE Art Fair in New York, FIAC Paris, and Suggestivism: Resonance in New York, demonstrating an ongoing engagement with global contemporary art scenes. Across these shows, Fox has established a distinctive visual language that blends geometric structures, mystical figures, and layered, introspective compositions.
