Marie José Robben

About

Marie José Robben is a Dutch artist known best for a number of impasto portrait paintings of famous painters from the past but now land seascapes are her favourite subjects.

Marie attended the Koninklijke Academie voor Kunst en Vormgeving (Royal Academy of Art and Design) in Den Bosch (1979-1985) and the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten (State Academy of Fine Arts) in Amsterdam (1985-1988) and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. She studied among others under the Dutch teachers Ger Lataster and Jan Sierhuis and she has had many solo exhibitions since 1987 including a solo show at Chapelle de Petits Augustins in Paris, Ter Haarstraat, Amsterdam, 2017, Museum de Fundatie, Zwolle and Castle Heino, 2016 and Bergkerk, Deventer, 2015.
